Urban Strategies collaborates with community-based organizations and with various City Partners (including the SF Redevelopment Agency and the Office of Economic and Workforce Development) to guide residents towards self-sustaining work.  Urban Strategies offers individualized needs assessments, groups and job clubs, referrals to employment and training programs, and employment placement services.  Urban Strategies also offers service-supported connections to various San Francisco Sector Academies, including CityBuild, Green SF, and careers in healthcare.

Tali, the Registered Dietician who led last year’s popular nutrition class has returned to teach a Healthy Living Workshop which combines healthy cooking demonstrations, education, and exercise. A great time for all!

Potrero Healthy Living - Weekly Zumba Class

Where: Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (NABE) 953 De Haro St.

Ready to move your body and get your heart pumping to high energy music?  Free Zumba classes are now being held at the NABE every Mondays from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm.

Potrero Healthy Living - Weekly Walking Club

Where: At the corner of 25th and Connecticut

When: Every Monday at 2:00 p.m. and Every Thursday at 10:00 a.m.

Get in shape and have some healthy fun with friends! Participants can qualify for the Healthy Living Program Rewards including a YMCA 3 month membership, or Educational Grocery Store Visit with a $25 Safeway Healthy Foods Reward Card. The walk takes between 30-45 minutes depending on the group and the route, but it is always fun!

The Family Resource Center Garden is thriving and we are getting ready to break ground on the larger Texas Street Garden.  Join the two new Garden Managers, Steve and Antonio, for regular workdays every Wednesdays from 10:00 am-12:00 pm to maintain the gardens, harvest and distribute produce and enjoy the outdoors with your friends and neighbors.

Potrero Healthy Living - Bi-Monthly Community Building Group

Where: Potrero Hill Neighborhood House (NABE) 953 De Haro St.

When: April 5th at the NABE from 6:00-8:00 pm
